World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

If the weapon's upgrade template is %, it will gain an additional 3% of the previous damage for every time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item's level increases.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into weapons, armor, and trinkets in order to provide an additional stat boost or effect while they're in use. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot for them; the item must be at a minimum upgraded to blue level for a component to be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade items component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the items that are not ascending back. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for examplethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of that equipment using the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the defense or attack characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear, or by purchasing them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.

The player is able to have the maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will drop during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their equipment even in the event that they don't know what will be improved following an update.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be expensive, and there is a substantial chance that the item upgrader kit; Check This Out, could be obsolete or even break when it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items to increase or even eliminate the possibility of failure, and a few upgrades that give an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes in their radius as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as you can to level 15.

You'll often see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is a great method to upgrade your equipment. These are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and give a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without any restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced with a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values it can improve a statistic by. The value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the various Glyphs and there are also a few rare glyphs to be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

When you have the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost a particular set of stat nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs boost all nodes connected to them, which is why it is Best item upgrade to place Glyphs in the most important locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids, for example, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to improve the performance of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is often referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item has an amount that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each item level requires a different amount of components and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is advanced in level.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.

When the player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced by a new item of the same type. The same armor will be upgraded to the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will come with a bonus of its own. This could be a drawback in that it could make the item more expensive if you do not need it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough tokens to be able to do so. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, but it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it could waste lots of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. The item can be upgraded multiple times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50x its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

The upgrade items of items allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces boost the defense of the base set, while upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as the required strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Each each time you upgrade an item it has the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the more you go over the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can result in the item reverting to its initial state, which requires the player to spend additional resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item upgrade does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance, attack damage, as well as all other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon increases its crit chance that it will be applied prior to any attack damage increases. Slots is a new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item may have five upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have a much lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items might require different upgrades than standard gear. For instance, they may need fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. However, players will need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the costs listed above.
