Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one go without the need to switch between devices. They can also reduce space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good robot vacuum combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads with the dock that is specifically designed for them.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly app that lets you pick the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For example, you can opt for the robot to clean up the kitchen and living rooms but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are superb as the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only drawback is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at a high speed, but just a glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.

The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that indicates when maintenance is needed like emptying the debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It also mixes detergent into the water tank by itself with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can run for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you see all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot mop and vacuum. The model of this year features a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity which allows it to pull up finer hairs and other debris other robotic hoovers cleaners could miss.

Like the other two Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It can then automatically change its direction and clean the objects without a pause.

It's the most expensive model I've tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching and only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also resumes the cleaning mop button, which doubles as a child lock and a home button to send the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, robots that vacuum and mop you will find a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.

The only drawback I could find to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's not easy to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number smart features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these smart features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. You'll have to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot automatic vacuum cleaner and mop is a market leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power and advanced mowing capabilities. Its intelligent design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while reducing time.

It utilizes two mops that are high-speed to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and has a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and small dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.
